What an incredible weekend in beautiful Bellingham, Washington! Hosted by Sylvia Tag and Nancy Johnson of the Wilson Library at Western Washington University, and organized by Janet Wong and Sylvia Vardell, poets, librarians, educators, and other children’s book enthusiasts feasted on poetry written for children.

We began with Robyn Hood Black‘s Found Poetry project at Village Books. On Saturday morning, we ran through a marshmallow welcome hoisted over us by WWU students.

We had a lovely two days of workshops,  which all ended with a celebration of Washington’s own Jack Prelutsky. Jack sang his poems to all of us for nearly an hour, and afterwards, he and his wife, Carolynn, joined the poets for dinner.
